1. Bakkerij Loof

Open since 2022, Bakkerij Loof has quickly become one of Oud-West’s favourite pastry spots. But it’s not just croissants - find sourdough bread, coffee from close neighbours Monks Coffee Roasters, and a selection of books, compiled by co-owner Mourad Saber.
2. Saint-Jean

Have you ever strolled through Jordaan and noticed a long line outside of Saint-Jean? It’s for good reason. Everything here is plant-based - but if you didn’t know, you wouldn’t notice. Try one of their seasonal specials. Trust us, it won’t disappoint.
3. Bakkerij Wolf
Wolvenstraat 22, Amsterdam
Nestled away in the heart of the De 9 Straatjes (or, The Nine Streets) is a lekker place called Bakkerij Wolf. Stop by for a mid-shopping break, enjoy the stunning interiors, and give their famous cinnamon bun a try. Craving something a little more? How about a natural wine paired with sourdough pizza? Yes, please.
4. Ulmus Bakkerij
Cabralstraat 7, Amsterdam
Organic is the name of the game at Ulmus Bakkerij, who pride themselves on sourcing only the best locally grown, organic ingredients to turn into baked goodness. Their croissants have that all-important crunch, and their sourdough loaves never miss. If you’re planning ahead, you can order ahead online, too.
5. Fort Negen
Jan Evertsenstraat 31, Amsterdam
There’s one thing for certain - wander around in Amsterdam’s West on a weekend, and you’ll see a line down the street for Fort Negen. And there’s a good chance most people there are queuing for their regularly changing croissant specials. It’s worth the wait, but don’t worry; the line moves quickly!
6. Grammes
Maasstraat 16, Amsterdam
Almond croissants, hazelnut escargot, kouign amann, sourdough brioche… do we have your attention yet? In a building that has been home to bakeries since the mid 1900s, Grammes knows their way around a pastry. When they pour three days work into each croissant, you know it’s going to be good.
7. Bakkerij Mater
Ceintuurbaan 320, Amsterdam
Two words come to mind when thinking of Bakkerij Mater: sustainability and sourdough. This cosy family-run and owned bakery is popular amongst locals in the hustle and bustle of De Pijp for their perfect breads, croissants and other sourdough-based goodies.
8. Dolzon
Van der Pekplein 15A, Amsterdam
At Dolzon, they pride themselves on being the tastiest bread and croissants in Amsterdam-Noord. And they’re not wrong. In fact, they’re so good, the locals will beat you to their pastries if you’re not quick enough - they regularly sell out. If you don’t live around the area, it’s well worth the ferry ride!
9. Rise Bakery
Albert Cuypstraat 208H, Amsterdam
Tucked away on the ever-busy Albert Cuypstraat, Rise Bakery is a hidden gem to settle down with a satisfying croissant and a warm cup of coffee. Of course, you can find all the favourites, but you might notice a little Italian and Spanish influence from the owners, Marta and Alessandro. Bellissimo!
